Domestic puttering...

It's been a busy week! My husband and I made a quick trip to Houston last weekend to visit our son and his girlfriend. Of course, going to Houston ALWAYS includes catching an Astro game and this trip was no different (even if our son didn't work for the Astros grounds crew, my hubby would find a way to work a game into the itinerary). I can't complain though...he patiently worked in a few shopping stops to include Home Goods. :))))

I spent Saturday "deep" cleaning our master bedroom. I've come to the conclusion that I need to give up housework for my health...I'm a bit sore from moving furniture around! ;)

I've included a few photos of recent finds that I finally worked into my home decor. One of my favorites is the little arched window... it's backed with metal and was the perfect little shabby chic accessory for my America Restored magnets.

I've been searching for a black and white magnetic memo holder for my kitchen...found this one on clearance at Hobby Lobby and the "Home" themed one worked well in my bedroom entry...a Home Goods find!

I decided to move my Thonet chair from my bedroom to the main entryway. Found this cute little key pillow at Stein Mart and slung it over the chair back to dress it up a bit. I'd been "eyeing" this perpetual calendar and snatched it up when it was half price!

I wanted to add a little something to the metal sconces flanking the window bank in our living room, but wasn't feeling silk flowers...found these cute wall pockets and opted to fill them with rolled scrapbook paper.

Loved these vintage look jars from Tuesday Morning! I'm a sucker for signage!

Hope you've enjoyed your weekend...I'm off to bake my hubby chocolate chip cookies, as promised!
Have a blessed week!

Well, I'm happy that you have had a rewarding time working on your house with new decor. They all look fabulous♪♪♪

  2. I like your idea for the metal sconces. I have two that are currently empty in the kitchen (which, of course, is driving me insane). I don't want to do silk flowers either...ugh...
