Botanical Gardens...

My friend and I braved the STRONG South Texas winds today and ventured out to the Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens annual "Big Bloom" event. We enjoyed wandering through the gardens...the butterfly house was my favorite! We also perused the plants available for purchase. We both ended up selecting a Desert Rose plant...a popular species with attendees!

Here's a few photos to share...

Nature is SO amazing!!!!

  2. What BEAUTIFUL photographs! You're right - nature IS wonderful, but for those of us who aren't able to see those gorgeous botanical gardens in person, it helps that there are people around such as you who record it in such loving detail. I must say - you are very nifty with the camera, you manage to capture such perfect petal and wing, and the colours! SO vibrant. You have a very pretty blog, and I look forward to reading more - and seeing more of your photography!

    1. Hi Carla...the tree with the white flowers is a Mexican Olive Tree. I tried to devise a way to dig it up and sneak out w/it, but no luck! ;) Funny you should mention Carnation of India...I have two of those in my backyard. They've taken a beating the last 2 winters but keep rebounding. The cute little Tree Frog didn't get to stay long in the Butterfly House...he was "relocated" by staff for the sake of the butterflies.
