Spring is here...

Right on cue, my Amaryllis majestically announce,
SPRING IS HERE!!!

Signs of Spring abound in my little corner of the world ...

The mere fact that these budding and blossoming beauties are still intact given the strong Texas winds of late is a miracle in itself! ;)

I Hope you find a moment (or two) to pause and embrace the wonder of this season of renewal.

...Happy Spring y'all!

Ah Shucks....

Shelly Gregory of ''Lush' included my blog as one of her five selections for The Liebster Blog Award. 'Lush' is one of the first blogs I began following and I feel somewhat connected on the blog aspect as well as in various interests. Shelly shares her views and lovely photos on love, obsessions, thoughts, weekly sign off(s) and the occasional (or not so occasional) "WOWS". So thank you Shelly, for your loyal following and thoughtful comments, "Along the Way"...

Perfectly imperfect...

Funny how one project snowballs into another, and another, and another...
Cleaning my linen closet led to sheets I no longer needed, which led to dismantling  my grown sons' bedroom (he's be out of our nest for several years now so it was PAST time). I've been slowly working to make the room presentable as a guest room, but was faced with  this...

...an assortment of hand weights and a not so attractive weight bench. My husband uses the weights from time to time and I didn't want to completely put him over the edge by not only removing all of our sons' "home roots", but relegating the weights to the garage as well :) So what's a girl to do? As I mentioned previously, I've pinned gobs of projects I'd like to try in Pinterest. One being, rag rugs (remember all those unneeded linens?). Let me just preface by saying, I do not know how to crochet. But thanks to some great tutorials, I picked up enough to create a "country shabby chic" cover that hides the bench and weights. It's perfectly imperfect and fits in nicely with the existing bed linens.

I l♥ve it when a plan comes together!!!

Burlap Bliss...

I admit it, since my daughter extended an invitation to Pinterest, I've become an addict, BIG TIME! I've pinned lots of ideas and dreamy "likes". I finally tackled one of the "to do" projects...a burlap wreath. It was so easy, and I must say, gathering the supplies took longer than creating the actual wreath. Wrapping the  form in jute was a bit time consuming, but I couldn't find another medium to my liking. There's so many possibilities with this wreath...you can seasonally change it up with ribbon, bows and other decorative items.

Chillin' (literally)...

After temperatures in the 80's, the weather here in South Texas has turned cold and damp. No compliants though, we'll take what Mother Nature has to offer in both these areas while we can as the landscape holds signs that Spring is on the way...

Wishing you a restful weekend!
